DESCRIPTION: These two matching Staffordshire rim soup bowls are made by Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. of Cauldon, Staffordshire. They date from about 1895 and are vivid in their design, which is called "Byzantium". It features a scene with trees, tents, figures and buildings with a pretty twisted rope and floral border (please ignore the glare from the camera flash). The blue is a nice dark shade and the transfer is very crisp overall. CONDITION: Excellent. No chips, cracks or crazing. Appropriate very minor rubbing to rim edge. RESTORATION: None.
